The structure of the Sky Tree was built by applying the earthquake-resistant structure of Horyuji Temple, which was built 1,300 years ago and still exists today.
It is a new building, but its earthquake-resistant structure and ideas were conceived 1,300 years ago.
Tokyo is a big city, but during World War II, Tokyo was burnt down to nothing. From that state, we were able to revitalize the city to this extent.
Wont be to long and I will be experiencing this first hand. Looked a bit breezy and crowded while you where out side. The night view from the tower was amazing. In my home city of Melbourne we have the Eureka skydeck which does the same job as Tokyo tower.
