Record your toiletry bag items already! You are a year behind and you promised us lol
Wow Chris!!! Great info!!! Thank you so much!!! The only tip I think you may have missed is if you fly with Southwest and the fare goes cheaper after you buy your ticket, you can call them and they will "refund" you the amount in the form of credit to use on a different flight, so you don't have to wait to buy with Southwest
I've always booked roundtrip flights — or multi-city on the one occasion we needed to visit a couple of cities — but I got a great offer for our favorite hotel in Victoria, B.C. anytime in 2023, as long as I booked before New Year's. So I booked the hotel nearly 12 months in advance and then kept checking the Alaska Airlines website, which unfortunately only allows bookings for 11 months, as those dates were added.
As our outgoing flight date became available, I realized that on one date, the first class airfare was only $45 (including taxes) more than the regular fare! The upgrade includes two checked bags per person ($30 for the first, $40 for the second), extra legroom, priority boarding, a free alcoholic beverage, and a snack selected in advance (more than the usual peanuts or pretzels). If I hadn't be checking one-way fares, I would have missed that killer upgrade. I did have to shift our hotel stay by a couple of days (which they graciously allowed), and the difference was significantly more for the return flight (so we'll be in the main cabin coming back), but going first class one-way will make a special trip even more special.
For most days I've checked since then, the one-way first class upgrade is $100 to nearly $400, but on a couple of dates it's as low as $70 which, if you're checking two bags, still pays for itself without any of the other bonuses.
So I think from now on, I'm going to always check one-way fares, especially if my return date is flexible.
Thank you! And how convenient showing San Diego for me. 😄
Ive never flew on united, delta and southwest. With the roundtrip cheap price you find on these sites you mention that check bag are included in the fare but what about choosing your own seats for yourself or if you want to sit with someone are they also included. I've checked delta and economy fare doesn't include choosing your own seats.
Thanks for letting me know about Google Flights, which I was not aware of. Here is a tip of mine: once you get to Europe (London especially), getting flights to other European cities is relatively cheap, making the total cost less than flying direct from the US, or booking straight through on one airline. We often spend a night in London, and then go to our main destination via one of the low-cost European carriers, such as Ryanair and EasyJet.
You are a wealth of information
Oh my gosh i know Chris is trying to squeeze as much information into one video action packed!!
What is your opinion about missing connections on purpose? I think the skiplagged website searches for flights where you book a flight but actually want to stay at a connection, and its cheaper than booking the flight there directly.
This was fantastic. And the editing and sound effects were top notch. Thanks for this Chris!
We were just watching your tricks to book cheap flights and have been trying to get to Japan since covid ended. We randomly checked for cheaper flights while watching your channel we found $400 dollars one way to Osaka the price we usually pay from Honolulu to Las Vegas. Mahalo so very much for your advice.
What is your tips for flying in and out of smaller airports? I rather enjoy flying through those airports because of the less hassle.
Tried out Google flights the other day and it gave me some really good options for trips we plan on taking this year!! Will be particularly helpful for peak season trips. I never used this feature before this video, so thank you for sharing it, Chris!!
Greetings from germany .
This is the best travel advice Video ive ever seen !!!!
Super helpful video. Thank you! I am a travel agent but still all very good tips. you would be surprised how many people are using travel agents nowadays. It is busy!!!
I love google flights explore map
The credit card sign up tip unfortunately won't work in every part of the world. There are places where your credit score is badly hurt by the total amount of liability/credit from the perspective of potential debt. Silly, I know. Counter intuitive, as I had to find out the hard way
Have to put in our vacations 6 months – 1 year before… so no dice on waiting for deals
This channel is like having your own personal travel guru at your fingertips👍👍👏🏻
Beautiful 🥰
Great video💛
I can sometimes find cheaper stuff on my company’s discount program website
I actually just booked one-way for me and some of my kids from LAX to Morocco. I initially just booked the outbound since I didn’t know what flight I wanted to return but wanted to be on the specific outbound.
Later (within the 24 hour cancellation period) I found the return I wanted. Turned out booking the round trip was going to be MUCH CHEAPER than what just the one-way was going to be.
So I booked the round trip, then cancelled the one-ways. Ending up saving so much money!
Crazy cuz usually 2 one-ways are better!
Great video! How do you get award tickets from airlines?
What about all inclusive trips or if your a single traveler

GREAT TIPS!
Great info!
Great video, like these over livestreams tbh
This may be the most valuable of your videos that I've seen, and that's saying something! Bravo and thank you!
I love all these great tips! I really need to keep in mind about setting price alerts. I'm potentially going to go on a big international trip in early September, so I may need to consider this in the coming weeks. I agree also with using the multi-city feature. I remember reading that it may sometimes be cheaper to fly into one city and then flight out of another. I did this last fall when I flew from Detroit to Belgrade and then flew home from Rome.
Great information, thanks Mate!
GREAT VIDEO THANKS
Taking notes here 🥸
